The name “Melvin” may not inspire fear in the average person – that is until they get an eyeful of Melvin “No Mercy” Manhoef as he enters the ring to the sound of the ‘Lil Jon tune “I Don’t Give A F***.” Make no mistake about it, the Suriname-born, Netherland-raised Manhoef is all about bringing his opponent down, with a masterful combination of Muay Thai kicks and strikes, and good old fashioned freestyle slams, grapples, and hammerfist smacks. As the Cage Rage Light Heavyweight Champion, and someone with a record that puts many other MMA fighters to shame, Manhoef has proven time and again that he can live up to his nickname. Victories by KO are Manhoef’s modus operandi, and he has delivered them time and time again in the Cage Rage, K-1, and DREAM promotions.
