Desription .........  Rafael Assuncao first gained recognition as a brawler in the ISCF (International Sport Combat Federation) Franchise, continuing in the FT (Full Throttle), AFC (Absolute Fighting Championships), ROF (Ring Of Fire), and BW (Border Warz)competitions, with a clean, eight match winning streak from the onset of his career in January 2004. After a loss to Jeff Curran in Curran’s very own XFO 13 match, Assuncao bounced back with two victories at ISCF and a third at AFL’s (American Fight League) Eruption. Assuncao fights with Unit 2 Fitness, gaining fans wherever he fights due to his brilliant execution of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu moves and a flair for delivering submissions. Notable victories include those over Jorge Masvidal and Joe Lazon. Assuncao is the brother of UFC fighter Jeff Assuancao, and has been called the #9 featherweight by MMA Worldwide Magazine.
